Sebastian Mikołajczak was born in Góra. He studied Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University, having specialized in sculpture. He received a diploma with distinction, which he defended in 2005. In 2010 he completed his doctorate in Plastic Arts. He is a lecturer at his home university. His main areas of work are medal art and coin design. He designs coins for the National Bank of Poland, the Polish Mint, and the Treasury of the Polish Mint, in addition to working with foreign banks and mints. His work has been shown at 5 individual exhibitions, 26 nationwide exhibitions in Poland, and 110 exhibitions abroad. Works of the artist can be found in both Polish and foreign museum collections. He is a member of the International Art Medal Federation (FIDEM) as well as the Art Association "Otwarte" (in Polish: "Open") in Toruń.
